Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. These cube magnets are 0.5"(12.7mm) Long x 0.5"(12.7mm) Wide x 0.5"(12.7mm) Thick. They are magnetized through the thickness. They are composed of grade 40 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Their individual pull force is approximately 24 lbs. Maximum working temperature is 176 F (80 C).

Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent magnets Comment: I bought these for holding a magnetic knife rack onto a fridge, but also ordered the 1/2" x 1/16" round types which work better because I need 3/8" to come flush with the housing.
We have not had any problem with chipping, no signs of fragility, but they are very strong. Our fifteen year old finds them extremely difficult to separate, the adults just find it hard work. With damp hands I can't remove them from the fridge, and even dry I have to rock them to break the hold.
They come in a double walled tube which is just sufficient to keep them from sticking to everything and messing with any ferrous metalwork they come close to.
Good to play with, but be careful round credit cards, CRT monitors, and anything else that is susceptible to magnetic fields.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty cool magnets Comment: I bought these magnets in hope of holding down some parts when I take apart airsoft guns, they are basically mini air compressors. They did not hold anything down, but they are very strong. They crack and chip very easily, just simply attempting to break them apart from each other results in breaking them. But they are very strong.
Customer Rating: Summary: super strong Comment: these are very strong magnets
they stick together through your palm pretty easily when new and can stick through your wrist
i recommend you wrap them in some sort of tape because they do slam into each other/other metals and chip
these are strong and you will have a lot of fun messing around with your friends with them
Customer Rating: Summary: Super powerful magnets Comment: We bought these magnets to go with another purchase of thinking putty. They are very strong and fun for the kids to perform experiments with various objects around the house. As recommended on the website, small children should be careful or they could get pinched.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best magnets for fooling around with Comment: VERY strong. The size combined with the strength of them make them very hard to take apart. You can use the edge of a table to help separate them.
Magnets are brittle. Allowing them to slam together WILL result in them chipping. They are also almost too strong to have them NOT slam together... They are strong enough to pinch fingers pretty good too. Not a toy (for little kids, anyway...).
Packaging is pretty neat as well. Fun magnets.
