EMINEM INFINITE (1996)

EMINEM INFINITE (1996)

Infinite represents Eminem the way he was in his younger years: a young man in search of true love as the song « Searchin» fully reveals it. A young man facing a lot of financial problems and trying to feed his family. When you have been yourself through similar difficulties, you will be able to relate to songs like « Its ok ». 313 gives us the taste of a « sweet emcee from the 313 ». « Maxine » also belongs to the well written songs of the album. Marshalls sincerity all over Infinite is so touching. But it seems that it wasnt enough. Despite the huge efforts, he had put into his album, people reproached him to sound like Nas. The public wanted something else, something biting that Eminem gave them with the Slim Shady EP and the Slim Shady LP. Although people wont unanimously agree on Infinite, Id advice any true Eminem fan to check the album if he hasnt done it yet- at least for the great lyrics written by Marshall Mathers.

Summary: from the heart of a star
Comment: his first album before he was ever famous and is quite possibly his most powerful effort! the songs are so real and coming straight from one of the illest rappers to exist!

the rap verses he comes up with here are plain genius. this is not the typical Shady we see a few years later on the Marshal Mathers LP and the Slim Shady LP. there is hardly any swearing. or talks about sex are rare in this cd. it's all about his struggle and how he came up and just random day stuff. it's just a very effective album! & if you listened to it.. you'd recognize why Eminem made it where he did!

well deserved and well worth a listen!

Summary: THE VERDICT.................. BUY IT NOW!
Comment: I became a fan of hip hop during 2003 while at music college helping rappers to record their songs. I wanted to discover Eminem, but wasn't sure where to begin. So, I downloaded a few tunes online, just to decide which album I should buy first. What I uncovered was the track "Tonite" - a fresh, party-style joint with great lyrics, awesome flow and a totally positive vibe throughout. However, nobody at college knew of this track! It's a rare gem from "Infinite" - the album Em now descibes as "a demo which just got pressed-up."

In "Tonite" (a song simply about partying) Em raps: "We came here to do this tonight/We don't wanna fight/We don't want no one feeling uptight.... We came here to do this tonight/Till the morning light/Hope that everyone's feeling alright." - NEVER AGAIN will you find him writing or performing such "happy" lyrics as these. If you loved "8 Mile" then you should buy "Infinite" - it contains music of the type you would expect Eminem's character in that movie to be writing (i.e. thoroughly positive). Don't get me wrong, I love most of Em's stuff, but "Infinite" (with its simple production and fresh vibe) continues to inspire me hugely. Peace.

ps..... also check-out the funny lyrics of "Backstabber" - another great track!

Summary: Best Eminem Track Ever!
Comment: Infinite (the single) is off the hook! There are two other decent tracks but Infinite is probably my favorite Eminem track ever. Also try Murder Murder on the The Slim Shady EP....

Summary: The White Illmatic
Comment: With no question about it, this is the best album Eminem has ever recorded and ever will. Lyrically it's perfect and the production is simple so the words are easy to pay attention to. This is Em at his hungriest. Reminds me of Illmatic in so many ways. If you can't find a copy, atleast download it. Be careful, I accidentally paid ten dollars for a burned copy. Its really uncommon to find a legitimate Infinite CD. Well worth finding though.

Summary: great but funny.
Comment: funny to see where Eminem started and there are good songs but much different from how his songs are now.
