From Reorient's own design table comes this original table lamp in limited production. The tansu lamp recreates a unique Asian furnishing in miniature. The tansu, or step cabinet, is a furniture item that originated in Japan but is used all across Asia. It's form and function provides for storage and presentation; small curios and collectibles can be placed on the lamp's steps for display. There are also two working drawers to hide little valuables or easily misplaced items like a clock key or keepsake. A hand painted dragon winds its way around the body of the lamp in fiery oranges and reds, standing out from the richly textured brown and black coloration. Dragons in China are symbols of prosperity and good fortune and the energy of life itself. In Feng Shui dragons are protectors against bad energy and promote the flow of positive Chi.
