Point of Faith

Point of Faith

The "voice" of the Emmy-nominated "Mists of Avalon" TNT/WB score, Aeone (pronounced Ay-Own) delivers a powerful body of work in this 13-song CD. With the unique vocal sound that has become her trademark, along with lush, cinematic arrangements and production, this beautifully-crafted album takes one on a journey from mystical etherea to the dark and ancient longings of the soul.

The album begins with the thundering "One Tribe", a call to prayer for all nations, which blends an East-West feel with Celtic sensibility in contemporary groove. It then flows effortlessly into the reflective and poignant title track, "POINT OF FAITH". As song follows song, the listener is carried away on an emotional tide of music, moving from the lavish, layered vocals of "Umbra Nihili" to the absolute purity of Aeone's voice in "The Last Breath".Aeone creates her rich thematic tracks by blending ethnic instruments and pads with strings and heavy grooves, alongside live players such as Irish and Blue Grass fiddles - allowing her voice to rise above it all.Silverman also co-wrote/co-produced with Aeone the mesmerizing "She Walks with Me".

The CD includes "I Will Remember You Still", the haunting song produced and performed by Aeone, from the "Mists of Avalon" soundtrack CD, inspired by both the legends of Avalon and Lee Holdridge's Emmy-nominated score for the recent mini-series of that name.

As this artist now presents her new album, "POINT OF FAITH", those who already know and love her work will doubtless agree that this is her most beautiful music to date.

This cd is complemented by a 20-page full color booklet, an otherworldly visual experience of pictures and lyrics. "POINT OF FAITH" is also an enhanced CD that comes with bonus pictures, high quality MP3's

Summary: Point of Faith
Comment: I really loved this cd. I am always a little afraid of buying a cd I can not hear sample music. I have had a few that were terrible. HOWEVER, this one was great I felt like my imagination was flying off to some place. Some songs I wanted to get up and dance, others I wanted just to relax to. This is by no means a roller coaster ride cd. This does not song like Lorenna. Not sure who thought they sounded a like.

She sings " Let me walk in Fields of my own goodness..Let me lie no more with my regret, I believe in all the choices I have made, From a point of love within my heart I forgive myself for all the mistakes" , " From a point of grace within my soul, I release myself for all the blame" Each Song Is written fully so you can enjoy the meaning anytime you want. Summary: Haunting Vocal Work - May Have Limited Appeal to Celtic Music Fans
Comment: I wouldn't term Aeone's vocal work as complex. Perhaps I would typify it as more arcane or limited to the narrow genre (Celtic) within which she has presented herself as being a part of. Even then, I wouldn't say she has the range and complexity of a more worldly performer such as Loreena McKennit but she definitely brings the vocal tinges of Kate Bush back into the present. Even for fans of Kate Bush, who is and was a phenomenal performance artist as well as vocalist, I wouldn't typify Aeone as a brilliant or an enrapturing artist who sweeps listeners up into her musical impressionism. But more of the lilting high-ranging soprano with an easy falsetto that strikes one as very ancient yet very modern in her vocal capability. I must admit I wasn't overwhelmed as I've been with some of the modern performers like Loreena McKennit, Enya, Aoife Ni Fhearraigh, or the Celtic Women, but she's not displeasing either. For real afficianado's I'd recommend more traditional Gaelic music such as Celtic Spirit or the new (2006) release of Pure Nightnoise. Lot's of older music but a good sampling of the genre.

Summary: Aeone just keeps getting better!
Comment: I accidentally discovered Aeone on MP3.comback in 1999. Ever since then, her music has haunted me, spoken to me, reached into me and brought out the Celtic heritage I never knew I had. Her music is powerful, sensitive, stirring... her music is truly a work of art. I'm ecstatic that Umbra Nihili is finally on a CD... that song sends a shiver down my spine every time i hear it... for any artist to be able to harness that kind of power in a song is a miracle just waiting to be heard. The rest of the album follows suit, bringing forth an almost supernatural presence withits beauty. I can't stress enough how much I love Aeone... one listen, and I'm sure you'll agree.
