Customer Rating: Summary: Reviewed by Diane Kasperski Comment: With When Angles Have Risen author Andrew Feder has created a very unusual way to depict the fight of good against evil but it works well.
Jerry Fletcher is going to Las Vegas to start his life totally over. He has had enough. He had helped his father with the family business only to have trouble with the IRS. The D.A. harassed him over child support. A judgment had his license to do insurance repair suspended by the Attorney General. He has had enough of California so he packs up and moves to Nevada.
He gets a new job, new apartment and is moving forward. On a hike with friends he gets ahead of them and gets, literally, "beamed up" by aliens. The description of the involvement of the aliens, star souls, light and dark angels is a bit intricate at first but, as it plays out in the story, it makes sense. Following his visit with the aliens, Jerry has a purpose in his life. He has a message to spread to as many people as he can. But there are those that don't want the message spread.
What follows is an action packed saga between good and evil with an underlying love story thrown in. Going beneath the surface of the story though there are some deeper, good messages. Feder covers a lot of ideas on religion and government in his slim, 125 page book. The only problem I had with the book, and granted it might be because I'm old fashion, is that every time God was mentioned in the text it was "G-d". For me, that isn't reverence it's a profanity but like I said maybe I'm old fashion - it drove me nuts. Overall though, it is a good story that keeps you turning the pages

Jerry Fletcher, cynic, is abducted while on a hiking trip with co-workers. He wondered if he was trapped in an "X-Files reality." Yoshu'ah, an alien, appears to Jerry and explains that there are two forces at work on planet earth, one is the force of LIGHT or good and one is the force of DARK or evil. Star Souls of LIGHT include Moses, Buddha, Isaiah, Daniel, Joseph and Jesus they taught love of God and the universe. But DARK took the teachings of LIGHT and "manifested the institution of religion, creating the hierarchy of power."
Jerry is one of the Star Souls and has been chosen to enlighten Earth. "You are like many great warriors of the Light. We have transferred large amounts of information to your DNA within your bones, and later, while on the Earth plane, you like thousands upon thousands of LIGHT warriors, will battle to save the Earth plane, bringing LIGHT unto Earth."
Jerry is returned to Earth and begins to enlighten others; his message is not one that the system of institutions wants spread. The people stage a rebellion against the government, there is rioting and civil unrest. Jerry has become a "threat."
Reading "When the Angels Have Risen" I could have sworn it was written by Michael Moore or a Michael Moore clone. The book is written in a humorous way but has some very serious deep lying messages. Those who do not trust the government or forms of institutions will love this book and the message it preaches. The front cover is beautifully done and promises something prophetic and exciting inside. The plot is good science fiction. My views on Christianity are very different from the author's; however, I have to admit he is a good writer and has done an excellent job. I did notice several editing errors. All in all this is an interesting read. I recommend this book to liberals. This book, "When the Angels Have Risen," has succeeded in making me ask questions and ponder many things I believe in.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Entertaining Comment: Normally, I read the Bible, books based on the Bible or books written for motivating me in life in general. His book at first made me nervous due to the title. But after reading it I realized the subject of Angels considered aliens was very unique and quite entertaining. Picking it up night after night, I found that it was simply hard to put down. Even the way he spelled G-D w/ a space fascinated me. All I can say in a nutshell: Great Author! Great Book!
Customer Rating: Summary: Pleasantly Surprised Comment: Politics and Religion. Aliens and Angels. Two sets of words rarely written in the same sentence, let alone book, without the risk of sounding "extreme". Two sets of words, two subjects in this book, that take the reader everywhere he/she expects not to go. Pleasantly surprising and rather exciting to ponder the possibilities written. Major world-changing events coupled with an underlying romance plot make this a very different and diverse story to read. The author portrays the state of humanity (rather accurately I'd like to think) were these sort of events to unfold. Going into detail people's thoughts and emotions as if he himself had experienced them. At 140 pages, Where The Angels Have Risen does not "drag on", achieving what some 1200 page books the reviewer has read cannot. Proving that "It's not the quantity, but the quality".
