Fall Out Boy Visit Three Cities On One-Day Infinity Tour
The always-ambitious Fall Out Boy played three shows in three cities in three time zones yesterday! All to promote the band’s new album, Infinity On High, which arrived in stores on Tuesday. The MTV-sponsored free gigs began appropriately enough at the TRL studios in Times Square first thing in the morning, where the band played new songs such as “Thriller” for fans who braved the cold temperatures. However, the weather would play a bigger role in FOB’s next planned stop: Chicago.
After delays leaving New York, Fall Out Boy and their “Infinity Flight 206″ plane made it to their hometown of Chicago by the end of the day, but the band was further held up by wintery conditions in the Windy City. When they finally took the stage at the House Of Blues, their set was supposed to have been long over. However, the band satisfied their hometown fans with an emphasis on older material, before hopping back on their plane and heading west to Los Angeles.
Fall Out Boy’s final stop came in a warmer climate, performing a rooftop gig atop the Pacific Stock Exchange building in L.A. for 45 minutes. MTV.com’s extensive coverage of the entire day, which also saw a contest winner coming along for the ride, can be found at falloutboy.mtv.com.
