At 16, R’n'B’s latest teen dream, Chris Brown, is already facing the inevitable comparisons to Usher and a young Michael Jackson after the chart-topping US success of his debut single, Run It. Produced by ex-Roots keyboardist Scott Storch (who is reportedly set to unleash Paris Hilton’s debut on to an unsuspecting public), the track is sure to be a hit in the clubs. Storch busts out the crunk whoops, whistles and bleeps as Brown sings: “Is your man on the floor? If he ain’t, let me know”. Sure, it’s disposable pop, but it’ll definitely make you want to shake your butt.- Justine Parker
