Hoobastank Announces Free Club Shows For Fans

Hoobastank will play a series of free shows at small venues throughout the month of April, the band revealed through a fan club email. The short road trip, called the Every Fan For Himself tour, will promote the upcoming arrival of the band’s new album, Every Man For Himself, on May 15. Fans are encouraged to visit the band’s web site, hoobastank.com, and register there for the show in their area that they wish to attend. The group would like a local act in each city to open for them and want to hear from interested bands, also through the web site.

The last time Hoobastank played live was a run through the state fair circuit in the summer of 2005. Singer Doug Robb said he had mixed emotions about the experience. “As shows go, I would say most of them were pretty cool,” Robb said. “It’s not hard to get a bunch of people who have been drinking beer and eating funnel cake all day to have a good time. Everybody’s there just to kind of enjoy themselves, you know? So on that aspect, it was good, but it was a negative because we were all so tired. We got back and we needed to go in the studio and we were exhausted half the time.”

Every Man For Himself follows up the band’s double platinum 2003 effort, The Reason.
