Beatles live album

A new Beatles album consisting of live music from across the band’s career is in production, it has been revealed.

The album will coincide with a Las Vegas show about the band, which was originally the brainchild of George Harrison, before his death in 2001.

Currently being overseen by the two surviving members of The Beatles - Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, plus producer George Martin - the LP will consist of previously unreleased concert recordings.

According to reports in the UK press this morning, the currently untitled Vegas show will launch this summer, with dancers spectacularly reinterpreting Beatles tracks.

The 90-minute extravaganza will take place at the Mirage venue in the city and will see the acrobats of the Cirque du Soleil leading the performances.

Speaking about the plan in The Telegraph today, Neil Aspinall, the head of Apple, The Beatles’ label, suggested the new material will play a key part in the production.

He said: “It involves the creation, by the remixing and remastering of The Beatles’ recorded performances, of completely new music, which will be featured in the show, and which should lead to the release of the show album.”
