Country music star raises money for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital
A big star with a big heart spent the day in Knoxville, singing, visiting and just spending time with those who needed it.
A queen of country music singing her heart out for a good cause. Lee Ann Womack is raising money for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
Heather Edgley from Children’s Hospital says, “We really need to have the income for the hospital. It’s wonderful for the patients. It helps our facility.”
And Womack’s day of goodwill didn’t just include this concert. This afternoon, she surprised patients and their parents at the hospital. Tara is one of those patients. She suffers from asthma. Her mom, Jackie, is a huge country music fan.
Womack says, “The moms are usually about my age and I can really relate to them. It’s just kind of like a hug and a pat and an I’m thinking of you can go a long way.”
A short visit that went a long way and a concert that proved to be the perfect close to a day dedicated to charity.–wbir.com
