Country music expo

Fifteen thousand fans are expected to tour the Country Music Expo this weekend.

It was a beautiful day to hit the country music trail and catch up with a few of the people who love their country.

Country music is filling the air and fans are filling the Blue Ribbon pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

“I love country music. I LOVE country music!,” said country music fan Sheila Dombrosky.

For those who “love their country” there’s no better fit than the annual Country Music Expo.

Put on by Eyewitness News radio partners, WFMS, the expo gives the full Nashville tour.

WFMS personality JD Cannon says, “If you want to meet a brand new artist or meet an established star they’re available, they’re accessible.”

At the event they literally roll out the red carpet but it’s the fans who get to walk it and it leads to their favorite country music artists where they get one on one interaction.

Autographs are a must.

“Who are you hoping to add to it? Just about anybody I think,” says Dombrosky.

Another country fan Dale Rhynearson says “We seen Wynona, Trisha Yearwood, Tanya Tucker. We know we’re going to see Lee Ann Womack and Clint Black.”

Saturday morning, recording artist Doug Stone cut up with fans.

Backstage he admits he gets as much out of the expo as they do.

“That’s the most fun for me, meeting them, getting to know their life, we’ve become a family,” says Stone.

About 15,000 are expected at the weekend reunion some enjoy listening and others get in on the act, singing karaoke.

The expo is definitely an event for country music lovers of all generations.
