CMT Awards Go Live On Radio, Online
CMT will offer a live radio simulcast of its April 10 CMT Music Awards to the 131 affiliates of the CMT Radio Networks. Also, for the first time in the five year history of the awards, CMT will show a live simulcast of the awards on CMT.com.
Another first for country music’s only fan-voted awards show is the addition this year of live text message voting for the video of the year category. CMT will announce the four finalists in this category live at the beginning of the show, and fans watching in the Eastern and Central time zones can vote throughout the broadcast at CMT.com and via text message to pick the winner.
The show, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, airs on CMT, CMT.com and CMT Radio Networks beginning at 8 p.m. April 10. Performers will include Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, Gretchen Wilson, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Brooks & Dunn and Trace Adkins.
